Organic Nature Inspired UV Resin July 1925.jpg

UV Resin: Organic and Nature-Inspired Jewelry Making Workshop
$45 all supplies included
Saturday, July 19, 2025   11am-3pm

Welcome to the world of possibilities with UV resin and jewelry. The combination is endless and I have to warn you, totally ADDICTING!

Ultraviolet resin cures in minutes so your creations don't have to sit overnight or for endless hours to be ready. UV resin therefore is perfect for making small items like jewelry, key chains, small bookmarks, etc.

This is a great introductory class because you don’t need experience in using resin nor do you have to wait endless hours for it to cure....you just put your item under the UV lamp and it’s ready in minutes. This workshop offers a wonderful variety of items for you to choose from and will not be a class where everyone has to complete the same pieces. Each person’s taste and style is unique and as such, I have structured this class to meet your needs as an individual and as someone who may want to create pieces that are special to you or someone else that you may be making a gift for (ie: memorial ashes). Everyone is given 10 “points” for this class and you get to choose what pieces you want to create (each piece is assigned a point value). Once you are registered, you will be sent samples of what’s available with their point value so have a look ahead of time and hopefully narrow down your choices. You are also given a few free pieces to practice on before you begin your selected choices and there are tons of items in the studio that you can use to decorate and create your treasures! If you have any special mementos or items that you think you may want to incorporate into part of your design/jewelry, I encourage you to bring them along and we can explore that option together. *inventory varies from class to class so some items may not be available or there may be new items which are not on the sample sheets

There are a mesmerizing supply of decorative elements to use in your creations such as pressed flowers, glitter, mica powders, diamond dust, german glass, ocean/sea embellishments, reflective glass, rhinestones, embeds and MORE! This class will lean toward using PRESSED FLOWERS and other ORGANIC materials such as wood bezels, walnut shells, all kinds of woodsy critter embeds, as well as natural stones/agates/turquoise, etc. which can be made in to pendants!

You will be learning which colorants are best for UV resin and how to achieve depth in your pieces by designing in multiple layers. We will be using a variety of open and closed bezels and also have access to additives like opal powders & colour shift mica and foils to enhance your jewelry designs.

The hardest part will be to narrow down what you want to do during our 4 hours together!

If you have any mini treasures that you want to incorporate into your jewelry, please bring everything with you because it's absolutely amazing to create something personal and your Creative Coach, BerylAnne will be thrilled to assist you (ie: pieces of jewelry, little bits of lace or fabric, lock of hair, tiny photographs).

No matter what you think of your creativity level, everyone will make something beautiful during this workshop; but keep in mind that creating art is not just about producing a product rather it's about enjoying and learning through the process of unexpected discoveries!

This is going to be SO MUCH FUN!!!

Gloves and aprons are provided. Refreshments such as coffee, tea, pop, water and assorted prepackaged treats are here for you but you can bring something of your own choice as well.

Preferred registration by etransfer to memoriesaremade@gmail.com or by using this ticket agent, Eventbrite.

Charcuterie, April 12, 2025.jpg

Resin Art: Charcuterie/Presentation Board
$90 all supplies included
Saturday, April 12, 2025   11am-3pm

Join us to design a one-of-a-kind presentation board using FDA food safe resin and a variety of amazing embellishments that are on hand in the Studio to use if you decide you may want to do so. Things like mirrored reflective glass, glass gems, metallic foils, german glass, or even pieces of jewelry to take your creation to the next level.

There are an endless variety of resin pigment pastes for colour choices and more mica powder than you'll ever wish for - so the options are staggering and only limited to your imagination; but don't worry at all about coming up with a concept for your board because we have a ton of inspirational pieces to motivate you and jumpstart the creative process. Your Creative Coach, BerylAnne also provides pictures of resin pours that others have done to give you some insight as to what can be achieved with some direction and knowledge of various techniques. Even those who have said, "I don't have a creative bone in my body" have creatied something they are incredibly proud of having done!

No other workshop gives you a such a variety of colours, resin & tools at your disposal and the ability to do a practice piece before you start your finished board. This will be done on a separate board provided on which to "practice" your techniques/test you colour choices, etc., prior to actually doing your presentation/charcuterie board so you get a really good vision of what your board will end up looking like. This has been one of the things that sets my resin workshops apart - "play" through "practice" is such an important aspect to feeling comfortable with resin and the techniques that will be demonstrated.

Y our Creative Coach will go over the basics of resin (safety, where to buy, what's available); board prep, will then demonstrate the most popular techniques to achieve cells & lacing, swiping, using a heat gun & torch, mixing colours with pastes/mica powders and lastly how to further adorn your boards if that's what you decide you want to do. There are never two boards that are the same and there's is always a nice variety to choose from.

All supplies are included in this workshop. No previous experience with resin is necessary but you must be 18+ to participate or 16+ accompanied by an adulty. Class number is limited so and this is a popular workshop so sign up quickly.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Resin takes a minimum of 12 hours to cure so you will not be permitted to take your board home with you but can make arrangements to pick it up the next day or at a time that is convenient.

Dress in old clothing as resin is unforgiving and impossible to remove from clothes; aprons and gloves are provided. Mermaid of the Ocean.jpg

Ocean Mermaid Resin Art

$90 all supplies included

Saturday, April 5th  11am-3pm

This new workshop has been awhile in the making and now I'm so excited to be able to offer it in the Studio.

Each participant will be given a baltic birch 26" long mermaid substrate on which to do your beautiful beach/ocean resin art; this blank wood is your ocean and beach waiting to happen! You will have access to all kinds of resin pigments in teals, aquamarines, ocean blue, translucent green, and sparkling diamond dust for in the water, shells, sealife, real sand, miniature charms (turtles, crabs, seahorses, lighthouses, pebbles, turtles, fish, mermaid tails, fish, dolphins, starfish) - WOW!

Your Creative Coach will first demonstrate how to mix your resin with coloured pigments and mica powders to give you mesmerizing ocean colours followed by a thorough demonstration on how to create the frothy cells and lacing to mimick the waves lap on the shoreline. Every participant will then get to practice that technique on a panel provided (that you can keep and use as a wall hanging). The idea of "Practice through Play" is always emphasized in my resin workshops as it not only gives you an opportunity to experiment with your colours, techniques, etc., while having creative fun; it also provides you with a comfort level BEFORE doing your final mermaid piece! Learn by doing is important which is why this class is 4 hours in length.

We will briefly cover the tools for this resin technique: Heat gun with air, torch & swiping applicators. Also, the ratios for mixing pigment into resin as well as which resins are good for which types of applications.

* **Important: Resin projects require a minimum of 12 hours to cure so you will not be able to take your projects home with you directly after the class. Arrangements can be made to pickup at a later date. Although no previous resin experience is necessary for this workshop, there is an age restriction of 16+ accompanied by an adult. Please note that the Studio is in the lower level and you will be required to be able to walk independently up and down one flight of stairs that has a sturdy banister.

There are refreshments such as pop, water, coffee & tea and prepackaged treats such as chips and chocolate bars but feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages if you want.

Workshops book up very quickly and preferred registration is by etransfer to memoriesaremade@gmail.com or by using this Eventbrite

OPEN STUDIO Day
March 29/25   11am-3pm
$45 minimum charge

Have you ever wondered "what's all the stink about ALCOHOL INK?" Well, this is your opportunity to find out and I promise it's an amazing medium to explore. Alcohol ink is an acid-free, vividly-colored, alcohol-based dye that is liquid, translucent and fast drying. It is best used on non-porous surfaces (e.g. ceramics, synthetic papers, glass, etc).

Versatile, unpredictable, mesmerizing, relaxing and affordable! Alcohol ink art spans across talent levels and experience because it's not really a medium that lends itself well to being controlled - which is why is perfect for beginners and established artists alike. There are always happy accidents that delight and surprise. No matter what you think of your creativity, everyone will make something beautiful during this workshop; but keep in mind that creating art is not about producing a product rather it's about enjoying and learning through the process of unexpected discoveries !

This introductory class with alcohol ink is ABSTRACT not conceptual so we will not be focusing on how to paint landscapes or specific objects with the ink, just how to mix and move colours in various techniques that you can further experiment with on your own. Not to say that you won't be discovering some amazing backgrounds magically appearing as you move the ink on your paper or items that look like florals etc.!

Enjoy the simple process of dripping ink onto synthetic paper and ceramic tiles, tilt and swirl it, blow it with a straw for a dazzling effect, feather it, blend it with metallic mixatives for a rich shimmer, add texture by using felt, spritzing with spray bottles, etc.

E ach of you has a LARGE pre-ordered 12" solid baltic birch initial that I have painted and prepped with white resin which you will decorate during the last few hours of the workshop (after you have learned a few basic techniques and feel comfortable moving forward.

On hand to try out will be the blow dryers used to move the ink, giotto rocket, as well as an airbrush. and many colours of ink to sample! We will learn what products are available and where is the best place to purchase them. We will also learn how to seal projects when finished because alcohol ink can fade and be reactivated if left without a finish. NOTE: We will be using 99% isopropyl alcohol which does have a strong odor (VOC).

Pre-Order of wood LETTER OF THE ALPHABET/INITIAL is required by March 10th

All supplies necessary for this workshop are provided in the registration fee but if you have some of your own items that you want to bring to class, please do so. Gloves and aprons are provided. Refreshments such as coffee, tea, pop, water and assorted prepackaged treats like chocolate bars & chips are here for you but you can bring your own snacks and beverages if you prefer. The workshop is in the lower level studio so you will need to be able to traverse one flight of stairs with a handrail.

Preferred registration by etransfer to memoriesaremade@gmail.com or by using this ticket agent, Eventbrite.

Opal Lantern March 8, 2025.jpg

Stunning Resin OPAL Workshop
March 8/25   11am-3pm
$90

Using various sizes of both manmade and natural crystals, coloured resin pigments, mica powder, glass gravel and shattered glass with reflective qualities, stunning german glass, metallic foils, and interference powders, you will be designing your magical geode-look-alike-fire opal lantern.

Each person will choose a metal lantern which has four glass doors that will be removed and transformed in to four separate geode pieces of art. There are a variety of lanterns available for you to choose from (white, aluminum, black, beige, red) and are medium sized (11" to 13" high). You can use one colour cohesively for all four panels or go wild and do each piece in a totally different colour pallett. You will have access to other decorative materials such as liquid silver chrome, liquid gold, shattered glass which can be coloured with alcohol inks, glass gravel and silver/gold/rose gold foil, mica powders & epoxy pigments and my new aurora flakes which are SO AMAZING. You will also be given an opportunity to do a practice glass panel before you actually start your lantern panels to try out your colour scheme and technique. We also have drawn templates for those who want a little inspiration in the design of their panels!

These lanterns look amazing when lit from within because you will be able to see through the designs on the glass which give you such a fantastic light show! So, if you wish, there will be battery operated lights for inside the lantern to purchase for a small additional fee.

Although all supplies are included in this class, if you have items you think you may want to incorporate into your design, you are encouraged to bring them along with you (ie: broken jewelry, stones, special memento, etc.)

No previous experience is necessary to participate in this workshop. Minimum age is 18 but if you are younger, pre-approval is possible and you will need to speak directly to the Creative Coach. Class size is limited.

***Please Note: Resin requires time to cure so lanterns can not be taken home with you; they will need to be picked up the next day or when it's convenient.

Dress comfortably in old clothing as we are working with resin; gloves and aprons are provided. The art Studio is in the lower level so one flight of stairs (with a bannister) are involved.

Refreshments such as coffee, tea, pop, water and pre-packaged treats like chocolate bars & chips are offered but if you want to bring your own beverage/snack, please do so.
